What is Porcelain-Zirconium Applications?
Due to its white color, light transmittance and durability*, it is a groundbreaking type of coating after porcelain over metal in dentistry, which allows aesthetic prosthetic treatments in dental treatments.
What are the Zirconium Coating Stages? How is it done?
- Local anesthesia is applied so that no pain is felt during the tooth preparation.
- The teeth to be veneered are reduced and precise measurements are taken.
- Immediately after the teeth are cut and measured, the temporary tooth is prepared without getting up from the seat and is temporarily attached.
- Zirconium colors are selected based on the uncut teeth.
- After 3-5 days, your zirconium crown will arrive and your real tooth is usually glued temporarily. The reason why it is not permanently attached is to be able to intervene quickly when there is a problem.
- If there is no problem in use, it is permanently adhered after 4-7 days.
- A check-up is done every 6 months.
Why Zirconium Dental Veneer? What are the advantages?
Since the light transmittance of zirconium dental crowns is very close to our natural teeth, it provides a natural appearance and is not very obvious. Compatibility with the gums is very good compared to traditional porcelain on metal. While porcelain on metal may cause a purplish appearance on the gums, this is not the case with zirconium. Zirconium dental veneers may be preferred, especially since we have zirconium made while having your anterior teeth done, as it will provide you with the closest appearance to natural teeth. It is more biologically compatible. Some of our patients may experience allergies to metal-based porcelain coatings. In such cases, zirconium crowns should be the first choice. Less tooth tissue is cut from the tooth to be made of zirconium. Because in traditional porcelain over metal, the tooth tissue is cut more in order to reduce the grayish image that will be reflected from the metal and to provide a more natural appearance. Since fewer cuts are made on the teeth to be coated, it is also expected that there will be less hot-cold sensitivity. If a single tooth veneer is to be made, it would be more appropriate to make a zirconium tooth because it cannot be distinguished due to its similarity to natural teeth.
